Does anybody have some general advice on what i should do(with living and working in japan being the end-goal) from here on out?. anything will help, really, i'm clueless. how do study abroad programs work, what should i major in, what are all the jobs available for me there, in japan, the JLPT. anything really.

i took the jlpt to give myself a goal and deadline to study. in the end i was better for doing it. everyone is different, you might enjoy just learning through conversation but for me, i needed a clear goal to be motivated.

Take a look at what jobs are available for foreigners in Japan, and then think of which you want to end up doing. Work from there.

Depending on your home country there are different options open, where do you live?
I currently live and work and in Japan so I can give advice.

First off, is teaching English something you'd want to do? It's the most common and readily available job for English speaking foreigners.

Ah Americans can't get working holiday visas so your options are a bit more limited.
