- wow! welcome back!October 27, 2015 at 8:48pm
- Thanks! Nearly down to 3000 Oblivion already, just from doing random Practice. ^^
I'm counting how many mistakes I make on the way down to 0 Oblivion. I'm writing them down in a list and the reason I got them wrong, so at the end I'll have a good idea of what I need to work on. So far I've made three mistakes, all on very easy questions: two were because I wasn't paying attention; the other was because I was overthinking and clicked a different answer to what I initially thought.October 27, 2015 at 9:40pm - お久しぶり!October 28, 2015 at 12:16am
- Maybe it's a good idea to have a latest mistake list like latest encounter history.October 28, 2015 at 12:59am
- I was thinking, maybe this would be an easy thing to add to the "learning progress" emails or as a separate email? Would probably need to add an extra option under subscriptions too though, for people to choose whether they receive these extra emails.
I don't know if this idea is practical though. And I doubt many people would actually look at the emails either, just regarding them as annoying spam, but I don't know.
Would probably be nicer to have this list displayed on the website somewhere. Just thinking of an easy way it could be implemented if you were thinking of doing this.October 28, 2015 at 1:15am - HEY! Long time no see...;)October 28, 2015 at 8:24am
- Hey Annick! Good to see you still keeping up with learning on here. I notice you've gone up a rank, as I remember you were rank 10 before I went on my trip. ^^
(Also, I'm down to 2217 Oblivion now already, just from doing Practice. I might stop for today soon though as my eyes aren't working as good at this point, and careless mistakes a beginning to pile up... Now at 10 mistakes--nearly all of them on questions I know well.) ^^;October 28, 2015 at 9:02am - Well, I still carried on doing Practice for a few more hours... I'm already down to 1455 Oblivion, however definitely stopping now. But check out my encounter history in this crazy screenshot I just took: http://snag.gy/tYQfT.jpg
The question I just answered = "100 correct : 0 wrong"! This is the first question I've never answered wrong to reach 100 correct!
And the question before it, 事務室, happens to be the question I've answered correctly the most times in total... "439 correct : 4 wrong", lol... ^^;October 28, 2015 at 12:03pm - まま、同じで3704.。。。(怠けますね>>) でも、直ぐに大学に行きますよ。^^October 28, 2015 at 11:26pm
- Minty! 0まで競争しましょう!(笑)
It sucks that education gets in the way of doing studying. Unless of course you are studying Japanese at uni?
I was finally able to experience Japan like you already have. Such a fun awesome country. Wish I could have spent much longer there. Takes a while to learn and get used to everything there, especially travelling on my own and my first time abroad... And then just when I was getting relaxed and able to do whatever with ease my trip ends. Two months would have been a better idea: the first month to learn how everything works; the second month to do things properly.
I get the feeling it won't be the last time I go there. For now though, I'm also going to have less free time to spend on JCJP, as I need to look for a full-time job to regain all that money I spent on my month in Japan (and start saving for a possible next trip). ^^October 29, 2015 at 12:19am - probably we're waiting for your full report on your first trip to Japan @mog86uk :D
http://japaneseclass.jp/forum/thread/1293October 29, 2015 at 8:06am - Right? I even bought egg-flavoured chips in anticipation.October 29, 2015 at 9:45am
- @mog86uk do you need me to enable markdown, bbcode, html or anything just for you to enable you to attach pictures within your post?October 29, 2015 at 9:55am
- @Arachkid, egg flavoured chips!? LOL
@Mog you got to 0 already 0_0 your post is only 2days old! Also yes I'm going to take Japanese at uni :D
I definitely plan on going back to Japan, next time I hope to spend more time in tokyo and visiting all the bars :3October 29, 2015 at 4:14pm - I've never heard of egg flavoured crisps either, but doesn't surprise me that Japan has them. I bought a large packet of strong wasabi flavoured crisps when I was there...
@Arachkid, I see you posted on that thread, about LINE contact details. When I met up Koukyoshi he mentioned that you'd posted a reply on JCJP, but my trip was pretty hectic organising each day that I barely checked in on JCJP at all. It's a shame we didn't get around to exchanging details. It would have been nice to have met up, and on the day I hired a car I may actually have driven somewhere pretty close to where you live! Check out this route I've plotted on Google Maps of my car journey. I was driving around Initial D anime mountain roads, lol. I did 619km, so there are a few km missing, but this is pretty accurate:

@beeant, You can enable those things anyway if you like~ ^.^
However, I write way too much as it is in my posts. If I tried to do a report on my trip, I wouldn't be able to keep things short and it would end up thousands of lines long. I should probably consider just making my own blog somewhere and then posting a link on here for anyone interested.
@Minty, I've not reached 0 yet. Reached 800 last night, but it gets a lot slower towards the end with random Practice encounters constantly giving the same words over and over.
That's cool about taking Japanese at uni. Although I didn't do uni, I wish I had taken Japanese when I was at college. I did computing because it's what I am good at, but I didn't learn much nor have I used it in any jobs since. I thinks it's best to just pick something you're interested in regardless of how it relates to future jobs. Any uni degree is a free automatic ticket to moving to Japan and teaching English. :POctober 29, 2015 at 10:17pm - Yeah I've also never used my software engineering that I got at TAFE(collage in all other parts of the world?). Although that said I just thought programming would be fun, turns out it wasn't at all to me >.<October 29, 2015 at 10:39pm
- @mog86uk ya, maybe you can move to Japan and start a blog about Japan, although there are already a lot out there.
@MintyHippo For some reason, that's a common case for people who did their first programming in a formal class environment.. I started my first programming from my own will to create something.October 29, 2015 at 11:36pm - I'm also interested to hear(read) about that trip! I may have reached a new position but I still have so much words in oblivion as well, I just can't keep up. I have a few words that I scored 100 correct, I had more before, just a moment of distraction, mouse slip or cat walking on the keyboard and it's all over. XDOctober 30, 2015 at 1:01pm
- Welcome back, Mog! I'd be interestied in your travel stories as well, especially since I want to coax my gf into visiting the Kantō region next year :)October 31, 2015 at 4:56am
