beeant san. I am still having this issue of a notification. It says I have one unread notification all the time but when I click the "1" in the red box there are no notifications at all had this for quite a while

Have you logged out and in/cleared your cookies?
I have 5 of them, exactly the same situation. This stuck unread notifications issue happens only to users who created their account before this current version of JCJP (~April 2014?).
I guess the reason you don't have this problem Arachkid might mean you had stopped using the site before the Challenge feature was implemented?
(@Jadore_Violet, Big clue right there as to what these unread notifications are for. You might be as intrigued as I was after you've realised it, since it's pretty significant that these unread notifications didn't appear right from the very start of this current version of JCJP but around a year after...) ^^
@Jadore_Violet (mobile device) Tap the top right corner or (website) check the top right to see if you have any Friend Requests.
If you have none, it is a similar problem to this account @washoku that I created during the testing phase of the beta version of the current JCJP website a couple years ago.
Yes, sorry for that, the number of notifications you have includes the number of pending challenges you have. and Challenge feature will be re-implemented "soon" :]
