    This is how Oblivion is supposed to work now. This is only a problem for users like us who made our accounts before the SRS system was implemented into the Practice feature. For new users who joined the site after SRS was introduced, this thing isn't a problem.

    I'm not sure if you saw the email that was sent out when the site was updated, the one which explains how the new SRS ★ system works? There's a lot to explain if you haven't read it, but I'll try. ;_;

    Firstly, one big change is that Practice always gives you Oblivion questions before non-Oblvion questions until you have no Oblivion items left for that question type. Because the questions you haven't answered for a long time are not in your Oblivion list yet (read the stuff that follows this for why), they won't start reappearing unless your Oblivion list is completely empty (for that question type—kanji/vocab).

    The old Oblivion system of items being added to your Oblivion list 30 days after the last time you answered them was replaced with this new SRS Oblivion system:

    [no ★ SRS stat] = If you've not answered/re-answered the question since SRS was introduced. This means this question will never return to your Oblivion list until after the first time you answer it, either correctly to make it 1★ or incorrectly to make it 0★.

    Once you've got an SRS ★ stat on the question, then now that question can finally start returning to your Oblivion list. How long questions take after answering them before they return to your Oblivion list depends on their SRS ★ stat, as follows:

    [no ★ stat] = NEVER!
    0★ = 1 day
    1★ = 2 days
    2★ = 4 days
    3★ = 8 days
    4★ = 16 days
    5★ = 32 days
    6★ = 64 days
    7★ = 128 days

    You can increase the ★ rank (by +1) of a question ONLY WHEN THAT QUESTION IS CURRENTLY IN THE OBLIVION LIST (the stat which tells you how long it has been since you last answered the question will be highlighted in yellow/orange colour when it is currently Oblivion), by answering the oblivion question correctly (either in Practice or Oblivion page or Lesson tests).

    However, the ★ rank goes down a level (by -1) every time you answer it incorrectly, no matter whether the questions is in your Oblivion list or not!

    So, this is a little bit of a hassle for us users who had answered lots of questions before December last year (the date when the SRS system was introduced in the update).

    But once you increase the ★ stat enough for the questions you currently keep seeing, then you will finally be able to get past those questions and get back to the questions you haven't seen for a long time. Some of us have 6★ questions already, which means we won't see them in our Oblivion list again for 64 days!

    This system is really good for making sure questions you are good at don't repeat too often, giving longer gaps to test your long term memory better. And makes sure the question you keep getting wrong are tested again much earlier.

    Beeant tried to figure out a way to make this less inconvenient for current users, but there didn't seem to be any simple solutions. Hopefully it doesn't take too much longer before your ★ ranks are high enough to start seeing new questions. ^^;
