I got a question here, It's a sample sentence from ずつ
Japanese - 彼女は子供１人にりんごを２個ずつ分けている。
English - She is dealing out two apples to each child.
at this place should I read the １人 as "ichi nin" or "hitonin" ?
and at the ２個 should I read as "ni ko" or "futa ko" ?

１人 = ひとり、２り = ふたり; the rest are ～にん
２個 = にこ-- but １こ is いっこ and ６こ is ろっこ

- For the most part, you use the "Chinese numbers" with counters other than つ, but there are some sound changes and some special cases (１人 and ２人 being among those exceptions).

Perhaps it will bother you less if you realize that there are special cases and sound changes in English, too: for example, first, second, third, fifth, not oneth, twoth, threeth, fiveth. :-) - OH OH OHH！！ I didn't notice it ! XD
