I would really reccomend either a beginner textbook like the Genki series, or Tae Kim's Guide to Grammar. Genki has lots of helpful exercises, is easy to understand, and is full of example sentences. You can buy it on Amazon for pretty cheap, I think. Tae Kim is free, also full of example sentences, and while its grammar explanations can be difficult to understand at first due to their bare-bones nature, it's chock full of really good information and can get you to a decent level of Japanese.
