What exactly is a "matome" anyway? I've never heard the term before I came to this site, and when I looked it up almost all the results were in Japanese I can't read lol

The verb 纏める(まとめる)means "to collect, to put together, to integrate, to consolidate, to unify; to summarise, to aggregate; ..."

The kanji 纏 means "wrap, wind around, tie, bind, collect, ...", the radical of that kanji 糹(糸) meaning "thread".

纏め(まとめ)is a noun form of that verb, meaning "settlement, conclusion, summary". So, in the case of what it's used for on this site, a "matome" means a "summary" (a short wrap-up of a certain subject). ^^
