You don't have even profile picture. You can be a spammer.
  • JPNpaul83
Oh I'm sorry I was cooking dinner for my family, I will upload one, for you if it will make you happy.
  • sunflower
DragonR33UA, what a kind introduction (???) If the user just registered then no profile picture is reasonable. It's not necessary.
  • JPNpaul83
Thanks Sunflower, it's nice to meet someone nice.
  • DragonR33UA
JPNpaul83. I dont care. I am just a user. That is not my website. Just saying that you can be a spammer and that is all.

sunflower. Do you know how many people it was with the same question, no profile picture and how fast they disappear.
When person wants to do something right (or better to say serious). everything looks original and informative.

All spammer don't have time and wish to do that. They do everything like this (see takashi2000 the last spammer).

@DragonR33UA, mate I don't care about you or spam theories. I'm here to learn and study. So in future please keep your comment and opinions to yourself ok..
  • DragonR33UA
I think you will disappear pretty fast from this website, but who knows maybe new star will born.
  • JPNpaul83

  • DragonR33UA

its funny how you think having a profile picture means someone is serious
  • mog86uk
Most advertising spammers don't upload a profile picture, but still quite a few actually do. Here are some of the recent ones that have uploaded a profile picture:

    anasmeeth https://japaneseclass.jp/user/statistics/92652
    legalraasta https://japaneseclass.jp/user/statistics/92389
    lindarose11 https://japaneseclass.jp/user/statistics/89740
    datdathc https://japaneseclass.jp/user/statistics/89248
    hnewyear https://japaneseclass.jp/user/statistics/89140

The edit profile picture function is a little bit buggy anyway. I think on some browsers and platforms it's not even possible to upload one. (Safari? mobile devices?)

@JRNpaul83, Welcome to the site btw. ^^
  • JPNpaul83
Thanks mog86uk it's nice to be here 👍🏻
  • Valentina6
mog86uk you're right, I haven't been able to upload a profile picture (Mozilla btw)..
  • swathilt
mog86uk, I'm unable to upload profile pic too, using Safari.
  • DragonR33UA
    swathilt
I am using Safari and everything just fine. Simply write your age and who are you? Male/Female/Alien is also impossible?
  • swathilt
Yes, worked thanks. But unable to change profile picture now. Is that how it supposed to work please?
  • swathilt
Ignore previous msg pls. Changing profile picture works now, somehow it didn't work for me for sometime back.
  • JPNpaul83
@swathilt... thanks for the update, I tried it in IE and it worked, it doesn't seem t work in Chrome.
  • mog86uk
@DragonR33UA, Uploading a profile picture previously didn't work when I tested it for the current PC version of Safari (really old version 5.1.7). And someone said the problem was identical on his Mac using Safari 7.0.4 (kinda old now). But maybe it works in newer versions? Which device and version of Safari are you using?
  • mog86uk
@swathilt, You were probably using an older version of Safari when you tried it in the past. It sounds like it must be working OK in more recent versions. Good to see you got it working. ^^
  • mog86uk
@JPNpaul83, It should just about work in Chrome also. But it can take a few attempts. I think it was just luck when you tried it with IE, as I don't think it works 100% perfectly in any browser.
  • mog86uk
@Valentina6, When I've tried it, Firefox seems to be far less successful at uploading a profile picture than some of the other browsers. I think it can still work eventually, but you might want to try to do it in a different browser like IE or Chrome.
  • DragonR33UA
My version is Version 10.1 (12603.1.30.0.34).
Well, 5.1.7 is really old and probably is not supported anymore. That is the reason. Everything is changing pretty fast nowadays. Wenn Safari is too old, then better to use Firefox or Chrome or Opera (or Opera Neon, super modern). Or even Maxthon, that is Chinese browser.
  • mog86uk
@DragonR33UA, Yeah, I never use Safari at all. 5.1.7 is just the latest version that Apple made for Windows PC before they permanently stopped making it. I fully agree it is a bad idea to keep using such an out of date browser (5.1.7 was released five whole years ago!).

However, one or two users on here have said before that they still used it on their PC. They were having problems, so I installed it to test the problem to see if I could help. I think some people had been using the PC Safari before Apple stopped making updates, and those people had become so used to using Safari on their PC that they didn't want to switch to any different browsers...

But I also mentioned 7.0.4 on Mac had the exact same problem as that PC one. At the time that Mac user mentioned it (3 years ago), 7.0.4 was the most up-to-date version of Safari available on Mac. So I thought the profile picture problem might still exist in the newer versions of Safari too. So we have confirmation that Safari 10+ at least is OK then. ^^
  • swathilt
@mog86uk, I use Safari 10.0 on Mac. Though it works, we have to try quite a few times for it to load successfully. Problem is when you choose 'Picture', it won't present picture to crop. Screen will be empty. All we can see is cancel button on far right end of the screen.

@JPNpaul83 welcome to the community. Hope you enjoy the learning process ;)
  • JPNpaul83
Thanks Reyneese it's nice to be here.
  • DragonR33UA
@mog86uk If problem still not solved then I think only beeant can fix it. He should optimise it for different browsers. It may be a problem of the browser or website optimisation. If this is website optimisation then only beeant can fix it.
  • swathilt
@JPNpaul83 welcome. Since how long you are learning Japanese. Hope you enjoy this Forum. It really helped me in many ways.
  • Valentina6
mog86uk Thank you, I'll try it on another browser :)
