Question about a Japanese sentence

in 特に今日はあの人、ファンに揉まれてとても疲れたと言っていましたから
Does 特に今日はあの人 mean "Especially today that person"?
what is special is today, not the person right?
(suck at grammar)

He/She said that, especially, today I was being surrounded by many fans so that I got exhausted. He / She told me that especially today, he/she was being surrounded by many fans so that he/she got exhausted.

    I can't translate it well.
So, the sentence wants to tell you that he/she has some fans, and he/she often gets surrounded by them, but on that day is very special. Too many fans got together so that he/she got exhausted.

Oh thank you very much! Yes it is what I wanted to know, I wasn't sure what was peculiar/special.

You're welcome, but I don't get the situation well, though.

According to the context it makes sense, it is said previously that a third person should be resting because the public performances were exhausting, he does not wish to receive visitors.
