Asakusa Shrine a Shinto Shrine, founded in 1949. It is located just adjacent to Sensō-ji Temple. In fact, they share the same grounds which is rare to see for Buddhist temples and Shinto Shrine closed to each other. Since 1800s, Emperor Meiji forced a clear separation between Buddhism and Shinto.
