What is tsuru there supposed to mean though?August 3, 2014 at 6:46am - I was interested in this 'tsuru' too. Looks like Urban Dictionary actually has a decent answer:

つるつる is a mimetic adverb meaning 'smooth, sleek, slick, slippery', so I guess this might be where the ツル comes from?
There's a sentence in the Tatoeba database where つるつる is used for smooth heads (as in baldness):
