    Interesting observation. I hadn't noticed that at all, although I rarely ever practice writing kanji by hand. ^^;

    However, you can see the first two strokes are not drawn 100% identically in both kanji, even with computer fonts if you look closely. The vertical stroke in 左 is longer and more upright; the vertical stroke in 右 is shorter and the lower end of it might look as if it curls up very slightly. When reading hand written Japanese writing, the correct stroke order would be much easier to see, especially in highly cursive writing styles.

    I tried practicing writing those two kanji on paper. When I try to write those kanji as fast as possible, the correct stroke order definitely helps. Between stroke 2 and 3, when the brush/pen completely leaves the paper, your hand is heading in the correct direction that stroke 3 is about to be drawn. If you were to draw stroke 1 and 2 in the incorrect order, you would then be drawing stroke 3 in the opposite direction of where your hand was previously travelling to.

    Very good observation @oadissin!
    It kind of reminds me of the differences in stroke order between 心 and 必. You`d think 必 is just 心 with a line running across it..but you`d be surprised at how different their stroke order is!

    your example is amazing too. I am learning this kanji " 心 and 必 " right now.
    これはおもしろいですからべんきょうをしたいです.
