Effective studying tip:
Writing, speaking, and memorizing at the same time.
Explanation: When learning new words, write the Kanji (or Hiragana if you don't know it.) and the english meaning over and over. Kana/Kanji is written first, then the english meaning. Only took about 5 times of me rewriting a list of 19 vocabulary words to remember them. Tested myself on another sheet of paper. The test was composed of the english meanings, and I had to write the answer in Japanese.
I hope you follow what I'm saying. The test had the english meanings, and you have to write the Japanese word as the answer. >_< i've confused myself.
