Welcome my friends...to Kenji Sensei's Classroom. I am your sensei, Kenji of course, BUT YOU MAY ONLY ADDRESS ME BY SENSEI!! Or KenjiSensei.... This lesson shall progress from a story I just made up on the spot don't judge me :P
First lesson:
なん ですか。
松村先生: ねこちゃん、それは なん ですか。
ねこちゃん: これ? これは あなたのお母さんです。
松村先生: -_____-
Vocabulary:
ねこ- cat
それ- that, referring to an item that is near the person you are talking to.
これ- this, referring to an item that is near the person talking.
なん or なに - what
あなた - you
お母さん-おかあさん - mother, mom
Grammatical Words:
は - topic marker
か- question marker. add to the end of statement to form a question.
(e.x これです - this これですか - this?)
の - possessive marker
e.x あなたのお母さん- your mom
e.x 2. あなたのねこ- your cat
です- equivalent to is, am, are, etc
English translation:
Me: Neko, what is that?
Neko: This? This is your mom. :)
