Meh, I like Tae Kim's grammar app.
Yeah yeah, back then I was impatient.. Don't tell me none of you went through the phase where you tried to learn everything as fast as possible, trying to achieve fluency in a day lol. I hated Tae Kim's guide because I was too impatient to read it, skimming over it and getting bored.
Now that I've matured a little bit, and past some language learning obstacles, I love it... The way he explains grammar helps me, as I'm not good at English grammar and it hasn't used many technical terms.....
I'm enjoying reading Fairy Tail, even though I can't understand 99% of the conversation, and don't know whether to read は as wa or ha in some places, I've watched the anime, and I'm just visualizing what's going on....and I love the pictures xD.
The more I study, the more I recognize words and kanji...pretty motivating to keep going..
One question.. Anyone notice how fairy tail has Kanji, then the furigana say フェアリーテイル? What's up with that??

From the manga, not anime...
Kanji are sometimes used in combination with katakana furigana to explain the meaning of the foreign word(s). I've read that this is most commonly seen in manga and other informal writings. For example it could be possible to have the Kanji 水 with the furigana ワータ next to it, indicating that the word ワータ has the meaning of 水 (water).- Lets say I'm a manga writer and I want to create an attack called fire fist, I could write ファイアフィスト in the furigana and write the Kanji 火拳 (literally fire-fist). Thereby perfectly explaining the what the cool sounding foreign words I used actually mean.
- Oh....thank you....I was wondering why they would do that....I mean, have kanji..but pronounce it using katakana....weird but okay..
