Check to make sure what the requirements are prior to signing up. A lot of schools offer high school Japanese courses now (on or off campus), so you might find a university level course higher than you expected.
Lucky you. My local college doesn't teach Japanese. So instead I downloaded the MIT public stuff for free and then bought a copy of Genki. Not quite the sane as a classroom experience though.
No, and not as much pressure on actually learning. That being said, I started learning when I was 35... ish? and wish I had started at secondary or post-secondary age. Would have been a lot easier.
