Well I don't see why you'd want to. 見 is much faster to write lol. I'm not sure if you can or can't, so i'm gonna give you both situations.
If you can, it's probably an archaic use of the kanji, so people might not understand it.
I think you can't. 観 has a different on reading than 見 does, so they probably aren't interchangeable kanji.
Actually, 観る is correct in that sentence. That's like using 聞く for listening to music when it should be 聴く. I don't know if it's as egregious as mistaking your for you're, but if you watch Japanese TV or the news, in that situation, you'll always see 観る.
