Hmm, I think that thing which after you reach a word 30 answers and after that it only gives 1 exp shouldn't exist. It ruins the mood a bit. I used to set a daily target of 50.000 points per day at least but I can't do that anymore.

- Couldn't agree more. It is extremely demotivating when you start encountering this more and more frequently. I've completely run out of questions that give normal EXP; I now only get 1 exp for each and every Practice question.
-_-
This cap was introduced about a year before I started. I think the intention behind why this was introduced was to discourage cheating. Supposedly, back then there were some people who may have been exploiting a bug in the Practice system by repeating the same question over and over.
However, as far as I'm aware, that bug was fixed a very long time ago. And, even if the bug still existed on this newer version of the site we are now on, people can now see really easily if someone is cheating thanks to "Latest Encounter" and the "Encounter History" on user's profile pages.
Yet we still have that same 29 correct answer per question limit for being able to earn normal exp. ^^;October 30, 2016 at 5:20am - Right? The majority of the questions I encounter has been answered over 30 times so I only get 1 exp. The funny thing is (if you can call it funny) that you get 1 exp even though there is a 10x multiplier so normally you should get 10 exp.October 30, 2016 at 5:37am
- Up until about a year ago, instead of getting 1 exp for these questions we got 0 exp. Still getting minus exp (like -24 exp) each time you answered one of those questions wrong, of course...
THAT was even more demoralising, as you were very likely to end the day on a minus exp if you did any Practice. The more you Practiced the further into the minus your exp was likely to go. I'd answer like 1000 practice questions and end up with over minus 100 exp at the end... So it was like you were being punished for logging in and doing Practice; better off exp wise not logging in at all...
So, before it was increased to 1 exp last year, the combo multiplier still made mathematical sense (as 0 exp multiplied by 10x multiplier was still 0 exp).October 30, 2016 at 6:00am - I say, remove that function since its useless and demoralizing like you said. And if there are people who want to cheat then be my guest. If someone isn't serious about learning Japanese then they can fool around for all I care just don't drag the rest of us down.October 30, 2016 at 6:05am
- agree with you - it kills the ranking purpose of this webNovember 3, 2016 at 12:29am
