東の方 MEANING

東の方 means on the east side.

The purpose of any forum is for discussion. I guess we could assume you meant it as a question to be discussed:

"Does 東の方 mean on the east side?"

I think it actually means more like "east direction", not side. More literally "direction (方) + of (の) + the east (東)". East side would be 東側, in the same way that left side is 左側 — "left (左) + side (側)". ^^
