Sushi is one of the most famous symbol of Japan and its culture. I am pretty sure that most of the major cities all over the world have sushi restaurants.

The history of sushi is so old. We can see the kanji character "鮨 (sushi)" on the books written at the end of 10th centuries. Sushi has millennium of its history.
But the sushi at that time was totally different from what we imagine now as sushi. They were called Narezushi (なれずし: ripened fish with rice).

We have to wait until the end of Edo era or beginning of Meiji era to see the sushi what we imagine right now.

He said, "I knew this place is expensive, so my brain says it SHOULD BE tasty...
