Hey, everyone! It's been a while. I downloaded a fun game yesterday that I would like to share with you all.

With graphics from Theatrhythm for the 3DS, Final Fantasy: World Wide Words is an amazingly fun game! I downloaded it from the Japanese iTunes store, so I'm not sure if it can be downloaded from the American one.

The game requires you to type words out on the Japanese flick keyboard (or kana input). You're graded by the speed at which you're able to type the words correctly. The highest grade you can get is an S--for which you'll do the most damage you can do. I personally prefer using flick over romaji input 'cause I feel it's faster, so this game was naturally easy for me.

Try it out!

Wow. The trailer for that record keeper game was pretty cool. All those 2D character sprites! But now all I can think about is playing the old games themselves. :D

I think I'm glad I don't have a device capable of playing those games, as I really don't have enough time to play more Final Fantasy games than I already have. :P

What is the purpose of the system in the World Wide Words game? Is it meant to help people learn Japanese, or is to help learn flick input, or just meant to be designed like that for fun?

@mog86uk: I played Record Keeper a little yesterday, and it seems pretty fun. In the beginning, at least, it's pretty dialogue heavy, so that's some good reading practice!

What? Are you using a flip phone? O_o Lol

That's a good question. If it's only out in Japan, I would think it's aimed at Japanese people, but it can easily be used as studying tool. I often look up words that pique my interest, like 除雪機, for example, which I should've known considering the blizzard that hit Japan last year. It could very well be they wanted to do something different with the game. There are ton of games that use the Puzzle and Dragons formula on the Japanese App Store.

"flip" phone? my phone is THAT advanced! (I'm not even joking!) :D
I think it's also debatable whether I can say I actually "use" my phone... It's mostly just an alarm clock, can't even remember how many years ago I put the £10 top-up on it... I kind of have an 'irrational' hatred of phones... >_>

If I ever make it out of the stone age, that Record Keeper game would be first thing on the list. For now, I'm considering dusting of my region modded スーパーファミコン and inserting in my Japanese cartridge of ファイナルファンタジー6! ^^
