Colour changes? Are you sure? I don't think anything visible has changed for several months (other than a text encoding issue in the Readings section getting resolved a few weeks ago).
Beeant might be on holiday at the moment, as he said he's currently in Australia (as his JCJP flag profile shows). I'm guessing he might not be on much if he is on holiday?
Although the other day he said he was doing some database maintenance, which doesn't sound like a normal holiday activity? Should doing some surfing at the beach, having a barbeque, drinking Fosters, holding a koala, riding a kangaroo, and watching MintyHippo wrestle some crocodiles! Haha, probably taking this strereotype a bit too far... :D
