    Check out this link. Explains it fairly well:

    I left school not taught barely anything about English grammar (not even being able to state the difference between a nouns, adjectives and verbs!) so I understand what it's like. I had to stop learning Japanese for a while and spend a couple of weeks learning English grammar on websites like these:

    http://englishgrammar101.com
    http://www.lel.ed.ac.uk/grammar/overview.html
    http://www.ucl.ac.uk/internet-grammar/

    This helped me a lot. You can try to avoid it, but it will be a difficult struggle trying to learn Japanese grammar if you aren't even familiar with the grammar of your own language. I know. ^^;

    Wow. I forgot how awesome that page is. For English grammar it seriously is the most useful page on the whole internet. I just read the entire thing again!

    I remember the first time I read it I didn't understand anything. But each time since then I have understood more and more. This time just about everything made perfect sense. I think I'm going to be able to understand adjuncts and subordinate clauses in Japanese so much easier now.

    It's a shame I couldn't have understood that page so well the first half-dozen times I read it! xD
