Is manga a good way to learn japanese?

I am a big manga fan and even though they are often considered as comic books, I think that orginal version japanese mangas are a good way to learn the language ... right?
My favourtie series are from Rumiko Takahashi but I can't find them in japanese :(
Do you have any suggestions?

Yes, it is. But people don't really talk like they do in manga.
If you like manga, then it might be more motivating to learn from manga than a boring old textbook *yawn*. LOL, anyway, I'm only a teen, so I like manga, too! Some good manga is Ouran High School Host Club, Lucky Star, Azumanga Daioh, K-ON!, Sailor Moon, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, and Yotsuba&! (I've read Rumiko Takahashi's Inuyasha series.)
    I hope this helps!!

Thanks for all the manga titles. I've only read Yostuba&! (10 volumes of them, actually) and I've never really heard about the other ones. Maybe they're not
    availible in Canada yet.
