So I was browsing this site and found that a lot of you have anime icons or are interested in manga and anime in general~ I also found that anime is a fairly good Japanese resource to use for fun...if you use it right and don't get sidetracked, ahaha. But anyways, what are your favorite anime? ;; u ;; Top 5?

It's really a tough question, it's hard to tell as you watch more and more animes and find good animes but mine would be like this:

Bakemonogatari (Most wonderfully animated and produced)
Panty & Stocking with Garter-belt (Most obscene...in a good way =D)
Angel Beats! (Most heart wrenching)

Shingeki no Kyojin is definitely another one of my faves, but I feel like waiting to see how it ends :P
Ahhhh, the ultimate question to make/break friends lol...
I haven't seen all five shows that anyone's listed so far. But here are mine, in no real order~
1) Angel Beats! [funny, relatable, and tear-jerking]
2) Haruhi Suzumiya [very funny and sometimes philosophical. But I mostly just love Kyon's inner narration the whole time. I'll admit, I've watched this show at least 4 times, and I haven't skipped any of the endless eights...]
3) Naruto [controversial, I know! *rolls eyes* but hey, there's gotta be something about it to keep me and millions of others watching after 500+ episodes, right?]
4) Natsume Yuujinchou (and Hotarubi no Mori e, a similar movie by the same mangaka) [there's just something about these that tugs at my heart...]
5) Monster [like reading a mystery novel in anime form. Psychological and gripping. Unfortunately obscure, it seems.]
Others that didn't make that top five:
Nichijou [for total hilarity. But I had other funny shows on the list : \ ], Mushishi [for being unlike any other anime I've seen. Calm and appealing in a way I can't fully describe, though I know it may be too slow for most people], Psycho Pass [for its awesome illustration style, strong female lead, and keeping me on the edge of my seat. But I chose Monster for the psychological thriller instead], Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle and xxxHolic [because the anime do not do the manga justice AT ALL, but I just wanted to mention how much I like both of them XD] and of course, all Miyazaki/Ghibli films [because I thought they were so obvious a choice.]
And of course, there are others. I could go on and on lol. And I could just keep watching more and more! Now for a favorite manga thread...
Also, *cough* Not to bring up a whole drama thread, but does anyone else watch and love Running Man? : )

I assume this thread is asking for top five personal favorites, not actual "best" anime. Frankly, SAO is a mediocre anime, but I love it to death. Clannad on the other hand is both my favorite and one of the best of all time.

I was thinking about buying that anime recently because the animation looks good and it sounds interesting. But I decided not to buy it because I hadn't even heard anyone mention it before. I think I'll buy it next time I see it then. :)

i watch nearly all genre of anime so pinpointing to five as Medyrius has said is really difficult,can i name at least 10:

Gahhh I have never made a list or thought about what animes I like the most out of all the ones I have seen. I have seen 100+ animes thanks to being unemployed when I first graduated college (plus 50 or so during college >;P). I think the 5 that have stuck with me the most are FLCL, Cowboy Bebop, Samurai X (The movies were fantasitic and a great back story for Rurouni Kenshin), Hunter x Hunter, and GITS (Ghost in the shell). I have sooooo many more but these would be the top 5 that have stuck with me though the years.
