I remember someone talking about this before, but did they say that for every certain amount of users who reach level 8 there will be a new level of vocab added or something like that?

- Yes. I don't know how many people have to reach level 8 but that's what was said.March 13, 2017 at 11:06pm
- Yeah, I think they mentioned that level 9 will be available after 500 users reached level 8.March 14, 2017 at 12:01am
- Well, we need to get working on that then. Every active user over level 8 needs to make at least one extra account and get it to level 8.March 14, 2017 at 7:56am
- I've seen every item in level 1 and 2 like 50 times, most other levels 20+ times. I need some new vocab up in here.March 14, 2017 at 7:57am
- We had 406 users at level 8 back when I posted this two and a half months ago:
https://japaneseclass.jp/feeds/comment/9162
Now we're at 422. If it took 2½ months just for 16 more users to reach level 8, it looks like it will take even longer than a year before we'll finally be at 500. (12½ months to go, if we stay at the current speed...) ^^;
As I said in that post, starting on a fresh account, level 8 can be reached with answering only 2,414 questions (if you do Practice without making any mistakes, and set the level to only the highest one and the question type to only "kanji"). That's only about two hours work @ 3 secs/question. :PMarch 14, 2017 at 8:39am - How do you know the new level will come? Is this like a set rule of the website? I'm gonna start working more on my extra accounts.March 14, 2017 at 10:39am
- but isn't cheating, kinda? :0March 15, 2017 at 3:28am
- Lincolnonion And didn't give the user a new portions of Kanji is ok? It is not that here are 2300 Kanji and extra portion is not really needed. I would say right now here is about 45% of all Kanji that it should be. And it was no updates since months.March 15, 2017 at 3:43am
- Get a new Kanji is always good. That is a good Idea. I think people have to work out a little bit more. Some users need extra 400-500 points to get level 8. So it would be great if they will get it soon. It is not that much work at all.March 15, 2017 at 4:21am
- Just a little bit and I will get a level 5. So not so far from the level 8.March 15, 2017 at 4:47am
- Well, DragonR33UA, there are lots of people having great fun on this free website already. I am grateful to the creator of this wonderful learning tool.March 15, 2017 at 5:55am
- I also think people should work more
I was kind of random about my studies, but when I tried doing fixed amount of words every day, I was surprised by how fast did I advance and I got to level 8 pretty quickly.March 15, 2017 at 8:29am - https://japaneseclass.jp/feeds/comment/7627
↑Found the post from when level 8 was about to be released, when we were at 499 lv7 users, waiting for one more user to reach 170,000 EXP.. ^^March 15, 2017 at 8:31am - Yay I helped! :PMarch 15, 2017 at 8:53am
- Ok I will start to prepare level 9 lessons now :)March 15, 2017 at 9:13am
- @beeant, !! This is exciting! ^^
Do we still need to reach 500 lv8 users though? You'll have a very long time to prepare it if we do.. XDMarch 15, 2017 at 10:27am - @Lincolnonion I know, I have a lot of fun too. But the website should still move forward. There are many other website and it should be new update to be at the same level or better that they are. everything is moving in this world. Also it is good for the website, because many people that got already level 8, are not active, because it is not that fun to answer the questions and get 1 point. When the new level will come, there are good chances to get back most of them and get a new users. Also it will make a higher rank for that website. Because when people are really serious learning the language, they would like to have as much as possible Kanji from 2300 "Needed" in other case they will switch to the other website, and JC will loose people. In this way or in that way it is profitable for everyone. For JC and for users.March 15, 2017 at 5:53pm
- I have this account and one other at level 8. One or two others are level 4-6. Every day after I reach my quota of 10,000 xp on my main account I will work on the others.March 15, 2017 at 7:44pm
- I actually prefer to use two accounts simultaneously because it forces me to focus harder and I actually make more progress. Because when using only one account there are sometimes where you must wait 2-3 seconds or more for the next question to load and that lets me get distracted occasionally. Those few seconds of loading time could be spent hitting the vocab on the second account.March 15, 2017 at 7:48pm
- @mog86uk I'll just prepare so I can fullfil more of my promises to JCJP that I often missed.. :( The app for JCJP is progressing too now. So maybe I can release the app first, expecting that it will boost the number of overall users as well as higher level users.March 16, 2017 at 2:43am
- @DragonR33UA I didn't know you were that serious about this website. Your first answer surprised me, it was so intense, but now I understand. It's great to have such supporters and cheerleaders, I guess ^^March 16, 2017 at 3:53am
- @DragonR33UA Also, I might not understand it all well. I don't feel like I am advanced enough with my vocabulary to be level 8 yet, 6 at most, so I still need to practice a lot before I can enjoy next levels.March 16, 2017 at 4:00am
- @beeant, Looking forward to seeing the app released. It looked great even a year ago. When it gets into the app stores, that alone will advertise the existence of this site nicely.
Will level 9 be focussed on covering the next bunch of kanji in the 教育 kanji list, the same as levels 7 and 8 were? So, level 9 would have all the rest of elementary school grade five kanji and some of the grade six ones? By level 10 we could have all 1,006 教育 kanji taught individually in the lessons, which would be nice. ^^March 16, 2017 at 5:13am - here is a teaser for the app.March 16, 2017 at 7:36am
- here is a teaser for the app.

- very niceMarch 16, 2017 at 10:28am
- I feel bad that I'm one of the top users and can't answer that question. I don't ever do lesson/quizzes or anything. I just do practcie until my eayes bleeed.March 16, 2017 at 1:56pm

- lvl 5 in a moment... 170k, at this tempo, will be somewhere around May :PMarch 16, 2017 at 3:33pm
- @Lincolnonion I am working out to be in top 15 again, so I have spent a lot of time here. That is why it would be nice to get always something new. Here is it pretty slow with the new levels, maybe one level for a year. I think when it would be a new level, many old users will come back. So it will be good and interesting.March 16, 2017 at 5:22pm
- @Lincolnonion If you will practice regular, you will get maximum result pretty soon. Make a target, 100 question per day, and you will see how fast it will be. Or more questions when you want.March 16, 2017 at 5:24pm
- @beeant, I seem to recognize the ionic framework in that teaser, is that what you're developing the mobile versions with?
It's looking gorgeous btw! Can't wait for this to happen, I've been using JCJP on my phone a lot recently, the mobile site is pretty decent but I'm sure a mobile app will be a lot easier to use...March 16, 2017 at 5:46pm - @medyrius, I've heard of ionic framework, but the app doesn't use ionic. The app uses react native.
Good to hear some positive feedback! I will try to speed up the release!March 17, 2017 at 1:16am - @beeant will the app have offline support and have a sync option like anki?March 18, 2017 at 8:52am
