Mini companion robot from Toyota, Kirobo

Kirobo Mini is introduced as a "baby robot", that has the capabilities to have emotional connection with the owner. This robot is dedicated to be astronauts' companion during their long journey to the outer space.

According to the chief designer of Kirobo Mini, Fuminori Kataoka, this robot is purposely designed to look like a baby. He explained that Kirobo Mini likes to talk, and can't stabilize itself, just like a baby. Kirobo Mini can also recognize the face of the owner.

The world's biggest car company will sell its Kirobo Mini robot, first announced at last year's Tokyo Motor Show, sometime in 2017 for 39,800 yen in Japan — about $400.
